Hushpuppy Mix - Pantry
Hushpuppies have been an accompaniment to fish and barbecue meals in the Southern United States for decades. This food once used to “quiet the pups” is now enjoyed by folks of all ages.
OLD SCHOOL BRAND™ HUSHPUPPIES
1 bag of Hushpuppy Mix
3 eggs
3/4 cup milk
Heat oil for deep frying (350°F). Place contents of this bag, egg, and buttermilk into bowl and mix. Drop spoonfuls into hot oil and fry until golden brown. Remove from oil, drain, and ready to eat. Yield: 18-24 hushpuppies.

1 bag of Hushpuppy Mix
3 eggs
3/4 cup milk
2/3 cup whole kernel corn
2 – 3 tablespoons diced jalapeños
1/2 teaspoon medium ground black pepper
Heat oil for deep frying (350°F). Pour contents into bowl add black pepper. In separate bowl stir together eggs and milk. Add to dry mix. Fold in corn and jalapeños. Drop spoonfuls into hot oil and fry until golden brown. Remove from oil, drain, and ready to eat. Yield: 15 – 18 hushpuppies.
